Tears in Heaven – Movie Review

Good day hoomans! So today I will start writing a lot of movie reviews.. Starting with my favorite one, of course. Let me introduce you to Tears in Heaven.

(This may be a bit different from the real story cause I saw it back in high school, like 5 years ago so I may have remembered it differently now)

Synopsis: A young boy loses his mother because of sickness and after that he and his father were very sullen.. His mother reads him every night of the lotus fairy (it’s a book they have) where in the lotus fairy appears when it rains and disappears when it’s sunny. The boy wished for his mother to come

Dominique’s Debut

So one of my best friends, Airam Dominique, celebrated her debut at La Castellana in Intramuros, Manila. A good place to host a big event such as this, very spacy and it actually has a very vintage-y feel. She was the last of our squad to turn 18 and we were so excited for her!! The theme of her debut was like a Japanese Cinderella story. There were Sakura trees everywhere and the chairs were clear (much like Cinderella’s glass slippers!)

I remember when we got there, Airam was about to walk to the stage hahaha but thankfully we arrived just in time. We even took Hershey’s chocolate from other tables before going to our own! Oops!

We were assigned to table number 1 which is nearest to the stage and it has the best view among all the other tables. All of our high school friends were there!!

Damsel in Debuts

The Debutante, Carol Anne Balita

About Her

Carol has been my friend since high school. We did not instantly become friends, which is [maybe] because we both saw each other as mataray (snob). But later on, we found out that we have a lot in common even though our personalities differ. She’s the fashionista one who owns a lot of make up while I am the “wants-to-read-books-all-day” kind of gal waiting for her knight in shining armor. But differences aside, we are both smart in our own frugal ways.

Iconic interview

Our Philippine Research professor required the class to make a research paper on something related to the subject. Since it’s a reading and writing subject, we decided to make a bibliographic research on a Filipino/a author. We had lots of suggestions regarding on who to make a reseach of and we all agreed to do one on Beverly siy ♦

Beverly “Bebang” Siy

The 38-year old mom is the author of it’s a mens world, it’s raining mens, mingaw, and a whole lot of other books and poems. She is known for her charismatic way of writing that will surely captivate her readers!!

The contact

We tried to get ahold of her through her Facebook page. Then we got a reply from an administrator saying it’s best if we contact her thru email

So we did.

Our Humanities professor required us to make our own poems and we have to read it in front of the class. As I knew this was gonna happen, I started thinking of lines before she even announced it. A little secret — I was creating lines in the shower! So here’s my A grade poem.

Art

You are such a calamity
when you went past me
But then, I was free

From all the jerks that broke my heart;
From all the poems I couldn’t start;
And from what I thought was art.

Happy birthday, Santiago!

Last April 18 was my cousin Santiago’s birthday (Which was right after Ianna’s 18th). We went to their house where the party was held. It was a fun-filled day, with games and a lot of cake! We enjoyed it, even though dad couldn’t come. He would’ve enjoyed it.

However, even without dad, it was okay. We got many loot from the games.
